A comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming assessment to explore whether both Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) fit your brain. This process integrates structured diagnostic tools with in-depth discussion of your lived experience, developmental history, sensory and executive functioning profile, identity, strengths, and support needs.
Taking an integrative, whole-body approach, we consider how nervous system patterns, masking, burnout, trauma, and health factors intersect with Autistic and ADHD traits. The goal is clarity, validation, and understanding, not pathologising.
With Comprehensive Report
With Outcome Letter
Yes you can, however, please note that there is no guarantee of NDIS or other external funding. If you are planning on applying for NDIS funding, I recommend going with the comprehensive report option and getting advice from your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) as to what other evidence you might need.
As a Psychologist, I am NOT able to prescribe ADHD medication such as stimulants. These types of medications must be prescribed by a Psychiatrist (a medical doctor with additional mental health training), not a Psychologist. Both Psychologists and Psychiatrists can diagnose ADHD. However, Psychiatrists come from a biochemical/medical background and Psychologists come from a more cognitive (i.e. brain) and social sciences background. This means that Psychologists often do a more comprehensive assessment of executive functioning ('brain functioning' assessment) but lack the ability to prescribe medication. This is where Psychologists and Psychiatrists can effectively work together to support holistic care.
You can pay for your assessment in two ways:
1) Pay the base amount in full - Get invoiced for the full amount (e.g. $3560 for an Autism assessment with comprehensive report) and then pay any additional costs if necessary as they arise.
2) Pay as you go - Get invoiced for each individual stage of the process (e.g. $240 for pre-assessment appointment or $1920 for report writing), spreading the payments out. For an outline of all these, see the full cost breakdown. Please also be aware that the report or outcome letter will not be released to you until full payment has been received.
Our online invoice payment gateway also offers Buy Now, Pay Later options offering instalments.
To be eligible to book at the concession rate, you must have a valid healthcare or pension card. This must be sighted by Ruby prior to booking.
If you are under 25 years of age and have a valid Neurodevelopmental Assessment referral from a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician, some medicare rebates can be used towards assessments. Feel free to take this referral form to your current Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. Unfortunately there are no available rebates for adults above age 25 for assessment services.
Currently, I only accept assessment referrals for individuals aged 16 years and over.
As all services are provided via telehealth, clients need to be comfortable using computer technology, able to participate in extended video appointments, and willing to complete online forms and electronic document signing. Parents, caregivers, or nominated representatives can assist with some administrative tasks where appropriate.
If your child is under 16 years of age, I am unfortunately unable to provide an assessment. However, I do offer parent and caregiver support. You are welcome to seek support in your own right to discuss your concerns, better understand your child's needs, and explore strategies to support them at home, school, and in everyday life.
Currently, NeuroNest Psychology operates exclusively as an online service, meaning we do not have an office space for you to attend appointments in person. If you find an aspect of telehealth difficult, I encourage you to discuss it with us to see if we can problem solve around it. If unable to, we can refer to other assessment services that offer similar services in-person.
I am a generally registered psychologist. A clinical psychologist is also a generally registered psychologist. By Australian law, all generally registered psychologists have the same ability to diagnose and provide documentation to support a diagnosis (i.e. reports and letters). While some organisations may misunderstand this and request documentation by a clinically endorsed psychologist, this is not based in fact. If you are concerned about this or have heard from others that you need to see a ‘clinical psychologist’, please read more about this on the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc DIAGNOSTIC CAPACITY OF REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGISTS IN AUSTRALIA fact sheet or feel free to contact directly to address your questions.
